About The Department

The department of Computer Science and Engineering is offering an undergraduate engineering degree program since the establishment of the university named 'West Bengal University of Technology' in the year 2001 with a view to offer quality higher education to numerous worthy young fellows as well as to meet the huge demand of highly qualified specialists in the field.

The department is also offering postgraduate engineering degree program from the year 2011. The university curriculum is aimed to give theoretical and hands on in the areas of Advances of computer science. A post-graduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering is a must if students aspire to set himself / herself apart from the anonymous mass of "computer professionals" and to assume a leading role in transforming the industry, be it through research, advanced development, teaching, or entrepreneurship.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering is continuing this legacy by advancing the frontiers of computing. We have a three-fold mission: to create knowledge, to disseminate knowledge, and to provide service to our communities. On the research front, our faculty, staff, and students are exploring innovative ideas in various areas of computer science.

The Department has a comprehensive university curriculum on topics related to all aspects of Computer Hardware and Software with an emphasis on practical learning. The course structure is up-to-date and includes courses on nascent topics to equip our students with the latest developments in Computer Science and Engineering.

The Department has state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure named 'Centre of Excellence in Computing & Informatics' (CECI) and computing equipment supported by high speed Ethernet and wireless networks. It has also various subscriptions of Online Journals (IEL) and offline journals.
