Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology – Central Library
All students, faculty members, and staff are hereby informed of the following important updates and guidelines regarding the Central Library:
1. Library Timings
- The library will remain open from [Insert Timings] on all working days.
- Issue and return of books will be allowed during designated hours only.
2. Library Membership & Borrowing Rules
- Students can borrow up to 10 books at a time, while faculty members can borrow up to 10 books.
- Reference books and periodicals can be accessed within the library premises only.
- Some textbooks can be retained for the entire semester, subject to approval.
- Books must be returned or renewed on time to avoid fines.
3. Digital Library & E-Resources
- The Digital Library provides access to e-books, e-journals, and online learning resources.
- Students and faculty members can log in to Web OPAC to check book availability, lending history, and overdue status.
- Institutional repository access is available for previous years’ question papers, project reports, and study materials.
4. Overdue Fines & Notifications
- A fine of [Insert Amount] per day per book will be charged for late returns.
- Overdue book notifications will be sent via email alerts.
5. General Library Rules
- Silence must be maintained at all times.
- Use of mobile phones inside the library is strictly prohibited.
- Eating and drinking inside the library are not allowed.
- Books and library materials must be handled with care.
6. Special Announcements
- The library has introduced new subscriptions to digital journals and research databases.
- Reprographic services (printing, scanning, photocopying) are now available.
