Manufacturing & Metrology Lab

Manufacturing & Metrology Lab

Both the Manufacturing and Metrology labs are designed to provide hands-on experience with a variety of manufacturing processes. Each experiment is relatively simple in nature, but provides the student a better understanding of the various processes than a theoretical viewpoint.

COURSE OBJECTIVES FOR MANUFACTURING LAB:

  • A. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to fabricate components with their own hands.
  • B. They will also get practical knowledge of the dimensional accuracies and dimensional tolerances possible with different manufacturing processes.
  • C. By assembling different components, they will be able to produce devices of their interest.

COURSE OBJECTIVES FOR METROLOGY LAB:

A. To provide students with the necessary skills for calibration and testing of different gauges and instruments.

B. To provide students with the necessary skills to collect data, perform analysis and interpret results to draw valid conclusions through standard test procedures using various metrology instruments.
