ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

    The department is equipped with state-of- the-art facilities like smart class rooms with modern equipments, departmental library with rich collection of nearly 8000 books and journals, seminar room and hi-tech research and development laboratory to facilitate research in different areas of management studies. The curriculum and courses are designed to elicit interest and curiosity. Faculty act as facilitators of learning and hence have significant autonomy in structuring the courses, teaching methods and learning experiences. The course content is presented in ways that invite questioning and reflection.

    The pedagogic practices, inside and outside the classroom are designed to ensure that students engage each other in dialogue and also address issues of inclusion and diversity. The opportunities for field practice are designed to complement the conceptual learning in the classroom as well as help students get significant exposure to the field realities. The department is committed to investing time and resources to ensure overall well - being of our students. We do this through extensive student support special programs, course tutorials, faculty mentoring etc. Students also get opportunities of research; publication in student journals; and participation in a variety of departmental initiatives. There are ample opportunities for learning outside the classroom and enriching one's experience.

Welcome from Teacher-In-Charge of the Department


Welcome to the Management Department of Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology. With the world of business constantly changing and all the technological advancements in the country, it is of utmost importance to augment management talent and resources at all levels. This idea, led to the formation of the Management Department of Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology in the year 2003.

This department aims to inculcate skills in students which would motivate the students to pursue their higher education in the field of Management, facilitating them to become successful in any field they wish to explore and pursue.

The department believes in the holistic development of the students and hence, encourages the students to be innovative by joining the Entrepreneurship cell of the institute and keep up with the fast changing atmosphere of the corporate world through internship assistance. The students also get the opportunity to pursue NPTEL certification courses offered by IITs and IISc during their course.

The department is proud to have hosted several seminars, workshops and invited talks among many others. Thus, the Management Department emphasizes on academic excellence, social concern and character formation and strives to enkindle in them a love for learning, discovery & invention, to improve the overall quality of life.

MBA program

    Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology (MSIT) has been successfully conducting the MBA program since 2003. MSIT is presently offering MAKAUT (formerly WBUT) affiliated; AICTE approved 2 years MBA program through the Techno India Centre for Business Excellence. The Centre is known for its innovative program design, up-to-date curriculum, extensive training network and strong industry interface. It offers affordable, high quality education and research program in different areas of business management to students, executives and professionals from different backgrounds. The B-school emphasizes on development of leadership quality, entrepreneurship and corporate ethics.
